I have always wanted to study architecture at the University of Manchester because of its prestigious nature.  It is particularly appealing because of its merger with Manchester metropolitan university; this will provide me with enormous range of facilities which include studio spaces in both universities fully equipped workshop spaces with all the necessary equipment for wood, metal, ceramics, glass, textiles, printmaking and bookbinding. Manchester University has one of the largest libraries in the country and Manchester metropolitan has one of the best art and design collection. They are equipped with computing facilities which will have industry standard software such as AutoCAD, Autodesk Viz, SketchUp and Vectorworks for computer-aided design and visualisation, I will also have access to web design, publishing and digital editing applications such as Adobe Dreamweaver, Flash, InDesign, Photoshop.  Manchester University also gives student the chance to be educated and have lectures and workshops by famous architects which in itself will be nothing less than an honor.

Fallingwater design by Frank Lloyd Wright has inspired me in especially the way it was laid within a waterfall and the fact that it has taken on board the natural element of architecture. This intrigue is one of the reasons I want to study architecture at university. Wright was given this opportunity to design the building, he had to face lots of difficulty such as the location of the building because the foundation wasn’t a typical foundation for a building also the clients need which was the house had to be big to fit large groups of people all these didn’t stop Wright from designing the building instead he overcame these obstacles this shows future architects that architecture is not a onetime success you have to repeat the process over and over again until you get a successful architectural piece.

Jamia Mosque in Nairobi Kenya is one of the one of the most prominent religious structures, and the most important mosque in the country. Jamia mosque is a beautiful architectural piece because of it classic Arabic Muslim architectural style with general use of marble and inscriptions from the Qur'an in the marble. The mosque is mostly recognized by its 3 silver domes, and two twin minarets the minarets of this a typical architectural design in Islamic architecture.

A work of architecture I would like to experience is visiting the holy city mecca and to see both the kaaba and the Abraj Al-Bait Towers in mecca which is considered the second largest building in the world. The kaaba is a cuboid-shape structure which has been standing for thousands of year which has great historical value for Muslim like me. Visiting this historical city can be a very inspirational experience for an inspiring architect like me.
